   Rick Johnson graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA in 1980 with a degree in Finance and Property Management and has a strong knowledge of sales adn marketing.  Rick received his real estate license in 1979 and has been active with the Scenic Cosat Board of Directors for the past 10 years and served as President in 1993, Professional Standards Chairman in 1995 and Grievance Committee Chairman in 1997.  He has also served as State Director and Political Coalition Chairperson.  Rick Has represented clients in over 1,000 transactions.

   After being raised in Tulare in the San Joaquin Valley, Peter Starlings attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA, graduating in 1977 with a Bachelors in Science, earning his Real Estate license in 1978 and his Brokers license in 1985.  Every year since then, Peter has achieved "Top Agent" status in his office and maintains over 1,000 Real Estate transacations to date.  With over 30 years experience, Peter is well-versed in negotiating deals for his clients.  He has extensive knowledge of contruction after obtaining his Contractor's License in 1983 and has built over 54 homes in the area.
   Peter and his wife, Shirley Starlings, established Valley Management Services in 1979, a full-service property management company with over 200 rentals.  Peter is a charter member of the Bay Osos Kiwanis Club, "Kiwanian of the Year" for 1992-1993 a past president and the new 2008-2009 president.  He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, receiving the award for "Volunteer of the Year" in 2000, a current board member of the South Bay Community Center and a decorated Vietnam Veteran.

Shirley Starlings Owner/Realtor/Property Manager

   Shirley Starlings was born and raised in Tulare in the San Joaquin Valley and moved to San Luis Obispo County in 1974 where she established Valley Management Services in 1979 with her husband Peter Starlings.  Shirley created Valley Management Services as a full-service property management company so that owners could find a corporation that would exceed in excellance to handle all of their property management needs.  Valley Management Services provides clients with both full-time management and tenant-placement management.  Today the corporation manages over 200 properties throughout the San Luis Obispo County area.

   Lauren Persall was born and raised in Manhattan Beach, California and moved to San Luis Obispo County in 1996 where she attended and graduated from Cuesta College and then California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.  Lauren has been a member of the Johnson Starlings and Associates, Inc. and Valley Management Services family since 2002.  Lauren is a Realtor, assistant to both Brokers, Rick Johnson and Peter Starlings, and is the Office Manager assisting Shirley Starlings in managing over 200 properties with Valley Management Services, the company's full-service property management division.
